04:37 pm: Imitation Pickles update
Hey,

I'm going to be posting all my future public entries directly onto:
http://www.imitationpickles.org/
Various friends-only stuff will still be posted here, when I do those, which is like once every 50 years.

For you blog guru sorts, you can just pick up my new feeds:
http://www.imitationpickles.org/pickles/feed.php?format=ATOM
http://www.imitationpickles.org/pickles/feed.php?format=RSS2.0
Please tell me if you have any problems with those feeds.

For the rest of the LJ folks - I don't particularily plan on cross-posting to this account. But if anyone has a premium account, I believe you can create a LJ feed of one of those links at:
http://www.livejournal.com/syn/

I've got about a dozen things in my "pile" that I'm gonna be posting to my website over the next month, so stay tuned.

Tallyho!
Phil

06:36 am: Summer Sausage Festival - Take 2
Well, it appeared that my poor showing in the summser sausage festival was a bad omen. By rejecting the tradition of eating the sausage in a day and taking a week, I cursed the Lake City area with no snow for two months. This past weekend I realized I had to make ammends for it.

I bought an additional regulation sized Turkey-Summer-Sausage. In the past 24 hours I devoured the sausage and Lake City was un-cursed with 18 some odd inches of snow. Thank goodness that I finally repented of my sausage-eating-slackdom.

08:35 pm: Website Overhaul
Hey folks - it's that time of year when it's time to overhaul your website!

So I did. Imitation Pickles v3.0 -- Now with an all new and exciting underwater theme! I've also taken the time to finally get all the sub-sites of the website linked to with really nifty big icons, so check it out and so on. Have fun!

PS - If I made it possible to add comments to any page on the site, would anyone use that feature?

07:59 pm: sausage report 2006
appears we had a small turnout for the festival this year, but a greater level of experimentation. for my personal festival i had a single sausage which i've spent the last week eating piece by piece (as opposed to the more traditional and halitosis inducing 24 hour method.)

- eggs 'n' fried sausage parts
- sausage cheese tortilla
- cheese on sausage chunks
- just plain old sausage chunks
- macs-n-sausage-bits

sorry, folks, no photos this year. maybe next year!

04:45 pm: in case you didn't get enough melon bouncing before...
watermelons for flash! - play melons in your browser on any OS! have fun!

05:46 am: Summer Sausage Festival 2006

I think this be a prime weekend for the festival? What do ya say?

Lake City has already got over 15 inches of snow, so I figure that summer is on the way out, time to bring in the winter!!

08:18 pm: Weekend of Nov. 4th - write a 50k word novel in 48 hours
From the www.nanowrimo.org site:

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.

Some of us from the Ludum Dare 48 hour game competition feel that the rules are a bit lax for our competitive natures. Instead, we've decided to try to write our 50,000 word novels in 48 hours. Don't think it can be done? Think again! At a mere 28 WPM you can write a 50,400 word novel in 30 hours of typing time!

Feel free to join us the weekend of Nov. 4th for the fun. (Participants can pick their own 48 hour time block, as long as it is during that weekend, roughly.) This sub-compo is being held in #ludumdare @ irc.afternet.org .. Hope to see you there!
